There are no parking meters in Indonesia.
Police rarely ticket unattended cars for being illegally parked, and rarely do they tow cars away. If a driver is present in a car that is parked on a pavement, they could be approached by a traffic policeman and issued a warning and possibly a ticket.
There is ample free parking at malls and department stores. However, there are always parking touts present who "help" drivers to park for a fee.
Parking touts are also present outside shops where there are parking places in the road.
